REFURBISHMENTS

Ivy Cottage

A beautiful Grade II listed former farmhouse. The client brief was to bring this tired cottage up to a high-end rental specification.

The initial focus was on structural issues; predominantly damp problems, rotten joists and failed lintels. The stonework front elevation was returned to its original lime mortar allowing it to breath again, the porch was repaired using reclaimed slates, extensive land drains installed, strengthening of all joists, improved sound proofing, re-wired and re-plumbed whole house, full interior modernisation, knocking through kitchen into a new timber conservatory and landscape gardening. All done sympathetically and in close work with listed building officers.

The finished result is a beautifully classic cottage with industrial touches, handmade rustic headboards, repurposed pitched pine original floorboards into a dining table and bespoke bathroom furniture, faux plank tiling, sisal flooring, hand made kitchen and high quality fixtures and fittings.
